Golem

Golem, chosen because it is a symbol of the double, is a soulless and mute clay creature, made in the image of its creator for the purpose of defending him. Seen as a projection that one creates to understand oneself and the other, the Golem of choreographer Julien Carlier and sculptor Mike Sprogis fuses the gestures of the two. Between the two men, there is clay, the organic source of an intense physical engagement, the earth becoming man, and man matter.

The dialogue between these two artists, whose art forms and ages differ, shapes the poetry of passing time and reminiscences. This echoes the irrepressible human desire to animate the inert and bring buried things to the surface. It is an ode to the capacity of humans to welcome the unexpectedness of the creative drive.
