Benoît Nieto Duran’s incredible physicality is rooted in his background as a "B-boy" and as a performer in hip-hop and contemporary dance. He has the raging desire of a pioneer in search of other forms of expression. On a stage as bare as a painter’s studio, his body is the blank canvas and his movements are the brushes and colours. In search of a new natural geometry, like a raw material to be remodelled by deconstructing the gestures of breakdance, he delivers - like Proteus - a solo battle where inversions, proportions and contortions track down the gap between ugliness and beauty.
